The Board met at the home of Warren Knapp. Present also were
Gary Aron, Bert Stanley, Marilyn Steane, Bill
Tomlinson and his assistant, Lauren, and Gloria Wilner.
Minutes of the April meeting were accepted.
In his opening remarks, Gary talked
about his impending move and the implications for the Board. Since the terms of
Warren and Gloria are also coming to a close, there will be an election for
three Board positions at the September 24th annual meeting.
The recent "walk around" inspection revealed a small number of decks
in need of repair. Bill will telephone those homeowners.
Causes and technical solutions for a few persistent sinkhole problems in
driveways are being sought by our engineer in concert with the Town.
The Association has contracted for a cold tar sealant to be applied to all
driveways this summer. Detailed notices will follow.
Some of our mailboxes are looking the worse for wear: the Association will
replace them on request. Where there are multiples, all will be replaced at the
same time. New house numbers will be added to the new boxes. Please notify Bill
if/when you are in need of a replacement of box and/or number.
The Bushnell's Basin Fire Department invites all to Community Days, Sat. June
23 and Sat. June 30, from 10 am to noon, at the new firehouse behind the Mobil
Station on Kreag Road.
Meet your local volunteer firefighters and learn how you can keep safe from
fire.
In an effort to promote a neighborhood of lush greenery rather than
slow-growing baby trees, a limited experiment is
underway to see if judicious tree trimming is better than tree replacement.
Results thus far are promising; stay tuned.
Dead or badly overgrown foundation plantings are replaced at HOA expense. Plantings still considered by the HOA to be
serviceable, but unwanted by the homeowner can, however, be replaced at the homeowner's expense. In such
cases, the HOA, as a courtesy, provides the labor to remove such serviceable but unwanted items. Plantings
removed at the homeowner's request will be maintained by the HOA along with all other front yard plantings,
but if/when those die, replanting is the homeowner's responsibility. The HOA maintains a record of
all foundation plantings replaced, identifying which are still HOA responsibility and which belong to homeowners.
We ask, out of respect and consideration for your neighbors, that
sound-producing hired work not be planned for weekends.
The next meeting of the Board will be Tuesday, August 7, 2 pm, at the home of Bert Stanley.
Respectfully submitted,
Gloria Wilner, Recording Secy.
