Bristol View Homeowners Association (BV HOA) View Prior Minutes Back to Current Minutes The October meeting of the Bristol View HOA Board was held October
22nd at the home of Gloria Wilner. In attendance were Marilyn Steane, Warren
Knapp, Gloria Wilner, Fred Weber, Bert Stanley and Bill Tomlinson. On a discussion of what financial information should be published to the
community website, it was agreed that the Annual Budget and related Reserves
Forecast will be posted each year along with the prior year's Audit
Report. That information will be updated during the year when there is a
significant variance in expenses to the plan. The 5-year renewal contracts for snow plowing and landscaping were finalized and agreed to with note that community satisfaction with the work of Chris Andrews and his team has been very positive. The need to address the problem of badly overgrown evergreens throughout the community was discussed. It was proposed that we plan a 3-year program to remove them and, in cases where they are to be replaced they be replaced with smaller plantings which will not grow as large or as quickly as the current evergreens. Garage sales were discussed and it was agreed that the community is divided over the issue. If a group of residents feels strongly about pursuing a plan for either individual or community-wide garage sale(s), they are to bring a proposal to the Board for consideration. A resident had raised the question of whether our mailbox numbers are sufficiently reflective for emergency crews to locate a home. It was determined that fire, ambulance and sheriff's personnel do not use mailbox numbering to locate homes. It was agreed that the prominent numbering on homes is sufficient, even at nighttime, given that emergency crews generally have spot lights and additionally that there are almost always people standing out front waiting for the emergency crew. On a follow-up to an earlier discussion on whether the way we have been publishing community rules and regulations on our website can lead to confusion, Paula Lapin, an attorney who is also a resident, has provided guidance on a way to do so that will avoid confusion. The issue is that the current "Summary of Rules" can lead to confusion on whether the rules on the website are the complete set of rules. It is proposed that rules published on the website be only those rules adopted by the Board which are over and above those in the Covenants and By-Laws documents of the community. Board members will review the input and finalize a decision at the next meeting It was noted that the TGIF Party at the Guglers was another great success with even more residents participating. More such get-togethers will be planned. It was also noted that residents should mark their calendars for the Annual Holiday Party to be held on December 17th at the Green Lantern. The next meeting is scheduled for 2:00PM on December 3rd at the home of Marilyn Steane Submitted by: |
