The August meeting of the Bristol View HOA Board was held
August 26 at the home of Warren Knapp. Warren Knapp, Gloria Wilner, Marilyn Steane,Fred
Weber, Bert Stanley and Bill Tomlinson were in attendance.
Minutes of
the past meeting were reviewed ad approved as written.
1st half, 2008 Financials were reviewed . We are slightly better than plan at
this point. These are the financials that will be reviewed with residents
at the annual meeting in September.
The draft landscaping and snow plowing contracts were reviewed and revised and
are ready to presented to potential bidders. Bill Tomlinson will do that
in a timeframe that allows us, hopefully, to have all responses back before the
Annual Meeting..
Fred Weber will meet with Lill Schaefer to review what we should do about the
appearance of the beds under mailbox stands and the overgrown eyebrow beds.
The irrigation systems for the entrance gardens at Bristol View and Woodcliff
Terrace are scheduled for installation about the end of October. Gerry
Severeynse will be visited by the contractor regarding connection of the system
to his home.
Marilyn reported that feedback on the eyebrow picnic was very positive and members
of the Good Neighbor Committee are considering whether we should have
additional functions to encourage more community togetherness.
Various resident concerns and complaints were discussed and actions planned
where necessary.
Bill Tomlinson will assure that there are updated phone lists available for
residents at the annual meeting and will prepare and mail the notice of the
meeting and elections asap. Only Marilyn Steane’s position is up for
election this year and she indicated that she intends to stand for re-election.
The annual meeting will be held at Casa Larga on September 23rd with the social
gathering starting at 7PM with the business meeting to follow at 7:30pm.
Driveways that were repaired last year will be sealed the week of
September 8th, weather permitting. This year’s driveway repairs
will follow.
There was
a discussion of major projects that need to be planned and financed as part of
our budget process including trimming back overgrown HOA-owned deciduous trees,
repairing or replacing damaged walks and driveways, replacing the aging mailbox
stands, and reworking the overgrown eyebrow gardens. Fred will get a
quote for trimming all HOA-owned deciduous trees.
The next meeting will be held at Marilyn's home September 12th at 3PM to plan
the annual meeting and review the status of the landscaping and snowplowing
contract process.
